The IBE Innovative Education Grant

IBE is proud to offer a new grant opportunity for educators as they continue to innovate to improve outcomes for their students.

Grant Procedures:

 

Purpose 

The purpose of the IBE Innovative Education Grant is to be used to “provide grants for educators to purchase technology, develop curriculum, advance educational leadership, and creating innovative programs that help students succeed academically, and which leads to the highly educated and skilled workforce Idaho needs”.  

Priority 

Special emphasis will be given to those projects that prioritize partnerships with the business community. 

Who can apply? 

Public Educational Institutions and non-profit organizations that focus on public education.  

For-profit, private, parochial or homeschool educational institutions, organizations, educators and students are NOT eligible. 

Application Timeline  

Application Opening Nov 1, 2024 

Application Closing Dec 15, 2024 

Review Period Jan 1 – Jan 31, 2025 

Award Notifications Feb 1, 2025 

Fund Distribution Feb 28, 2025 

Grant Amounts:  Up to $10,000 

Use of Funds: Grant funds must be used to support direct costs associated with purchasing technology, developing curriculum, advancing educational leadership, and providing innovative programs that help students succeed academically.   

Prohibited Use of Funds include 

  • Technology or other products intended for personal use or used solely by the primary project contact. 
  • Activities that take place outside of Idaho or involve non-Idaho residents, organizations or businesses as recipients of grant funds. 
  • Covering indirect or overhead costs such as rent, utilities, and shared office supplies. 

Review Process 

Each grant submission will be reviewed by at least two IBE Innovation Committee Grant members. 

Reporting and Accountability 

A one-page summary of the implementation of the project is due to IBE no later than May 1, 2025. 

Eligibility Form – all statements below must be true. 

  1. This funding request is for a project supporting Idaho populations and takes place within the State of Idaho. 
  2. This funding request is tied to technology, developing curriculum, advancing educational leadership, or creating innovative programs that help students succeed academically. 
  3.  This funding request will not be used to support for-profit, private, parochial or homeschool populations. 
  4.  This funding request does not include any indirect/overhead costs (rent, utilities, employee fringe benefits, etc.). 
  5. The district or non-profit organization involved in this request has explored and researched any technological requirements related to this project and confirms its ability to implement the project.
