Elaine Leedy joined Idaho Business for Education in August 2020 as Executive Admin to the Vice President of IBE’s Youth Apprenticeship Program.
Elaine has had an extensive career as a Legal Secretary and Legal Assistant in the San Francisco Bay Area and as a business owner for two destination art galleries in Sausalito and Mendocino, CA. She also forged her own art career, selling her pastel paintings in CA, TX, WA, WI and ID.
Since moving to Boise in 2012, Elaine served as Executive Assistant to the Chair, and Committee Secretary for the Idaho Senate Education Committee, the Office of the State Board of Education as Committee Secretary for the Governor’s Task Force for Improving Education, and as Executive Assistant to the Chair, and Committee Secretary for the legislature’s Joint Finance-Appropriations Committee (JFAC). These experiences taught her extensively about Idaho education, finance and government.
In 2015, Elaine joined Girl Scouts of Silver Sage Council as Executive Assistant to the CEO where she also served the Board of Directors, bringing structure and organization to its committees. Using her legal background, she became adept at studying, recommending and drafting policies and corporate documents for the board and the organization.
Elaine’s background in law, business ownership, policy writing, plus work in Idaho’s legislature in education and finance, brings a unique perspective and skill set to IBE’s Youth Apprenticeship Program.
